Since joining the firm in the summer of 2005, Matt Pruden has been defending clients in state and federal courts across North Carolina. Matt’s practice covers the full spectrum of criminal matters, including drug trafficking and conspiracy cases in federal court, and homicide and sex offenses in state court.
Matt prides himself on effectively representing people from all walks of life. In recent years he has represented a physician who was never charged after a lengthy Medicare fraud investigation, successfully defended public school employees against a variety of criminal charges, and obtained a plea offer to a probationary sentence for a client charged with murder in a rural county.
Born and raised in Charlotte, Matt attended law school at Wake Forest University School of Law before returning to Charlotte to practice law.
