Caroline G. Wakefield

Caroline G. Wakefield joined Tin Fulton Walker & Owen in 2024 as an associate attorney. Caroline focuses her practice on family law as part of a highly experienced team with Courtney Hamer Smith and Daniel A. Lewis.

Caroline understands that family law disputes can lead to some of the most difficult experiences of a person’s life. Caroline strives to be a partner with her clients by providing guidance, support, and competent legal advice while continuously advocating for their best interests. Caroline’s goal is to make the complex legal system understandable to her clients by explaining every step of the process, setting realistic expectations, and thoroughly answering her client’s questions.

Caroline currently assists Courtney and Dan with litigation, Collaborative Divorce, negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. The Tin Fulton family law team aims to minimize the emotional and financial anxiety that surrounds divorce, alimony, child support, and child custody issues by encouraging out-of-court settlements when the circumstances permit. The team also knows that sometimes litigation is the necessary approach for a case – and they are prepared to advocate in the courtroom for you.

The Tin Fulton family law team’s practice includes separation and divorce, child custody, child support, post-separation support, alimony, equitable distribution, legitimacy and paternity, annulment, termination of parental rights, premarital and post-nuptial agreements, nontraditional custody cases, domestic violence, and high net worth divorce/custody matters.

Caroline is a Charlotte, North Carolina native and is happy to be back in the Queen City after she spent seven years in Columbia, South Carolina obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history from the University of South Carolina in 2017 and her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2024. While in law school, Caroline served as Editor-in-Chief of the South Carolina Journal of International Law and Business. Caroline enjoys international travel, exploring Charlotte’s diverse culinary scene, and watching football with her fiancé and her cat.
